Good Talkers was founded by Nicki Dugan Pogue, a communications veteran based in New York and San Francisco who has spent her career working with companies ranging from tech startups to Fortune 100s.
Nicki Dugan Pogue
Nicki has more than 30 years of experience on both sides of the media aisle — first as a journalist, then in communications, both in-house and agency.
Before founding Good Talkers, Nicki was senior vice president of communications at Outcast, where she spent 12 years working with spokespeople at technology companies, venture capital firms, government agencies, and biotech startups, as well as book authors, academics, and elected officials.
Before that, she spent a decade at Yahoo! Inc., wearing many corporate communications hats, including executive, product, legal, brand, and internal communications and issues management. She also oversaw consumer technology teams at Niehaus Ryan Wong during the rise of the dot.com boom and was editorial director at Sheila Donnelly & Associates in Honolulu. She started her career as an editor at Travel Holiday magazine in New York City.
PR Week awarded Nicki its 40 Under 40 Award in 2007, and she appeared on Business Insider’s PR 50 list in both 2014 and 2015.
Nicki has a B.A. in English from Franklin & Marshall College and lives in San Francisco and New York. She is a veteran of 21 marathons, three Ironman 70.3 triathlons, and is a World Marathon Majors Six-Star Finisher. When not on a plane, she raises two boys, volunteers at Puppies Behind Bars and Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship, hosts all manner of pups through Rover.com, and lives with a journalist who complains about crummy spokespeople.
